BIO
Andrii Venislavskyi was born on May 24, 2004, in Ukraine to Fedir Venislavskyi, a Ukrainian professor and politician, and his wife, Karolina Venislavskaya.
He was raised in Kharkiv. After completing school, he moved to Kyiv to attend the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Kary Theatre, Cinema and Television University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in theatre production with a concentration in directing and acting. In 2015, Andrii has created the nick-name "Andrew Vilange", which would be later taken as his professional name. In 2022 he enrolled in The Los Angeles Film School in Los Angeles, California, completing a bachelor's degree in film production with a focus on directing in 2025.
The first project ever of Andrii's was "The Andrew Vilange Show,"
"The Andrew Vilange Show"
which began its life in 2019 and was over at the end of 2021. From his own words, the show was strongly inspired by the entertainment business of the 1950s and 1960s, especially Dean Martin (and his show), who was the main encouragement for young Andrii. While studying, Andrii was able to take part in the creation of more than 20 projects, including movies, theater plays, and internet-released videos. Mainly, his works were in short-feature and documentary movies, starting with his first solo short, "My Introduction" (2022), which was meant to present the character of Andrii Venislavskyi (Andrew Vilange) to Hollywood. Followed by two other solo shorts, "Jobless" (2022) and "Shut Eye In The Past" (2023), Andrii established the direction he wanted to make art in, which allowed him to transform the solo short into a better-quality short film made with a crew and an actor, called "Shut Eye In The Past II" (2023).
"Ink and Inspiration"
By the beginning of 2025, Andrii had an opportunity to draw the attention of the American audience to the Ukrainian War with his short documentary "Ink and Inspiration" (2024), about a Ukrainian captain-writer dealing with hard times keeping optimism inside, although the film isn't available for everybody to watch due to the safety of the subject. At the same time, Andrii took part in The Interrogation (2023), "Ink and Inspiration" (2024), "Escape Room" (2024), and "The Tale of David Lynch" (2024) as an actor and a voice actor. By the next summer, Andrii had a chance to work on "The Devilman" (2025) but kept his main focus on his latest film. By the end of his education, Andrii wrote and directed his 20-minute film "Marked" (2025), which was the biggest work of his by that moment.
"Marked"
Venislavskyi's art is a certain combination of 1960s and 1980s beauty, soundtracks, and characters, with mind-twisting stories in the style of David Fincher and David Lynch. The acting of Andrii was shaped by Ukrainian and American schools at the same time, giving his presence in the shot a unique effect. Music that Andrii Venislavskyi was composing and performing is soul-touching, mostly purposed to be played in the background, and fits each and every scene it is written for.
While always keeping the goal of highlighting the Ukrainian war and bringing the nature and problems of it to the masses, Andrii anticipates to have his works shown at the upcoming festivals in the US.
Andrii Venislavskyi is also known as "Andrew Vilange", which is a name he took in 2015. Using this nickname, Andrii founded the "AV TEAM", which is a Minecraft Mod-Developing community of gamers, programmers, and artists gathered in one place, counting over several thousand members. Despite being a big creation of his, Andrii, as he noted himself, doesn't have an opportunity to work on the gaming projects as often as he wish he could.
Regarding Theatre, Andrii was able to take part as an assistant to the director, in the creation of "The Revenge of The Bat" (2023), which is a play directed by Vakhtang Chkhaidze — Georgian-Ukrainian (USSR in the past) theatre director. In addition to this, Andrii participated as a co-director and an actor in the play work "My Way" (2025), which was a shared work between his classmates and himself, at the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Kary Theatre, Cinema and Television University.
